Postponement of 3rd OvaTools Symposium ” Navigating the Future of ART: Personalization and Innovation” March 20 – 21, 2020 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
It is with a very heavy heart that Dr. Gary Smith, Dwight Ryan and I are reporting to you that out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to postpone the OvaTools meeting until further clarity is obtained regarding the novel coronavirus outbreak. On Monday, March 9, Governor Ron DeSantis announced a state of emergency for Florida and 4 confirmed cases of the coronavirus were identified in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where our conference is taking place.
Institutions across the world are restricting travel, making it impossible for our speakers and many who have registered for our conference to attend and enjoy the meeting. We have been clear all along that the health and safety of speakers, attendees, staff, and exhibitors is of the utmost importance. By holding the meeting, we might not only put everyone at risk, but we may also displace attendees during a public health crisis. This could occur because of the need to self-quarantine upon your return home or in the worse scenario contribute to spreading the virus to our attendees’ home towns.
Our current plans are to reschedule the meeting later in the year when the public health emergency information is more clear. You will be updated regarding the refund information in another communication, which will be coming soon. We are also exploring ways with our accrediting bodies in which we might be able to deliver to our registrants, content from the meeting in an online web-based format.
